Construction of the new $100 million state-of-the-art secondary school in Whyalla is now complete, with the school opening in term 1 of 2022. Whyalla Secondary College is designed to accommodate 1,500 students in years 7 to 12, and this number includes 48 inclusive places for students with disability.
Drafting Solutions was engaged to complete the mechanical services drafting and lead services coordination for the project.
This school project has strict acoustic requirements, which caused complexities with the mechanical design that we needed to work around.
Drafting Solutions worked closely with our client and the acoustic engineer to ensure the project specifications were meet. This caused difficulties with the other services within the ceiling space, which was resolved by running multiple clash reports and holding regular meetings with the builder and other service trades.
