The student accommodation building rising in Adelaide’s West End, UniLodge Gray Street has more beds than any other in town.
Consisting of 16 floors of rooms and 772 beds, the building also features a total of 1,764m2 of green walls both on the east and west elevations, giving it the largest green façade in Australia.
We were engaged to complete the mechanical services drafting and overall services coordination for the project.
This project was a design and construct contract, with spatial challenges within the building envelope. Being student accommodation, space for services was at a premium, requiring innovative solutions to services coordination.
Coordination of all the services within the apartments required a high level of cooperation between trades, in conjunction with building design. Regular workshops were conducted by Drafting Solutions to ensure that services were integrated within the structure and architectural form of the building.
