The Task

Drafting Solutions was engaged to provide a complete solution in Autodesk Revit for medical gas, pneumatic tube, dry fire and refrigeration systems. This included services coordinationshop drawings and as constructed drawings.

We also provided drafting services throughout the construction phase, relating to hydraulic services, mechanical services, antenna systems, department fit-outs, medical pendants, automatic guided vehicles, inventory management and signage.

The Challenge

The coordination process for this project was very challenging, with tight ceiling spaces and a complex reticulation of services throughout the building. The services coordination included in-ceiling services, reflected ceiling plans and wall elevations throughout the building.

The Solution

Drafting Solutions provided coordinate files to the site teams, allowing them to mark out penetrations, pipework and pipe hangers with surveyor’s equipment. This streamlined the set-out and installation of services, greatly reducing the man hours on site.

Over the course of the project, we dedicated over 14,500 drafting hours, managed over 300 3-D model files and created approximately 700 detailed shop drawings.
