The Task

Drafting Solutions were contracted to provide lead coordination for the project.

The Challenge

The new building had to incorporate the existing heritage façade into its construction. Many internal features required salvage, careful removal, storage, and retention for later re-use – including structural timber elements, ornamental ceiling finishes, tongue-in-groove timber ceiling and wall panelling, floor boards, cast iron columns, sliding and hinged doors and hardware, and timber windows.

The Solution

Drafting Services maintained the project on BIM360, uploading new Architectural Revit models, running clash tests, and issuing clash reports to the drafting team. A model of the heritage façade was included into the clash detection Navisworks model, to ensure that no services were interfering with any of the pre-existing elements.
