As part of the refurbishment of the building at 1 Richmond Road, the existing plant located on the roof was replaced with new equipment. This is a landmark, 5-level office building, prominently located on one of Adelaide’s main arterial roads.
Our drafting services involved preparing shop drawings for the installation of new chillers, cooling towers, pumps, buffer tanks and associated pipework within an existing plantroom.
As the project consisted of modelling new equipment, in an existing plantroom, it was important to be mindful of this constraint. We had to make allowances for equipment and pipework that was to remain in the plantroom and ensure that the new plant to be installed would not clash with any existing services or structure.
We were able to gain access to the plantroom at the start of the project and take a number of site measurements. Using this data, we were able to reproduce the whole plantroom and the existing services in a 3D Revit model, which was then used to ensure that all of the new equipment and pipework could be installed clash free.
