Construction of the new $100 million state-of-the-art secondary school in Whyalla is now complete, with the school opening in term 1 of 2022. Whyalla Secondary College is designed to accommodate 1,500 students in years 7 to 12, and this number includes 48 inclusive places for students with disability.
Airservices Australia has developed the world’s most advanced air traffic control system at the Air Traffic Services Centre, spread across two sites – Tullamarine Airport, Victoria and Brisbane Airport, Queensland. With responsibility for controlling 11% of the world’s airspace, they have an availability requirement of 99% for key services – meaning the system cannot be offline for more than 10 seconds across an entire year.
The redevelopment of the Nepean Hospital is a multi-stage project. The NSW Government committed $550 million to deliver Stage 1 and $450 million to deliver Stage 2. This will also include the construction of a $26 million multi-storey car park on Barber Avenue to support the expanded services on campus.
203 North Terrace is a 35-storey student accommodation complex, containing 367 beds. The project incorporates specific heritage restoration works to the existing 15-metre tall building facade, including window and door frames, face brickwork and corbelled detail.
The Tullamore Apartments complex consists of 102 new residences ranging between 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments, complete with amenities. Parking is located on Basement 1 and part of the Ground Floor. Level 2, 3 and 4 are typical apartment layouts. Level 6 houses the services roof plant.
The Victorian Government is building a new maximum security prison at Chisholm Road, Lara. It is designed to accommodate 1,248 prisoners and includes health, education, and recreational facilities.
The existing TC Building at the Swinburne University of Technology was to undergo expansion and refurbishment through a build-out of existing external central atrium and specific room refurbishments, covering three levels and the roof.
The new build-out of the atrium space included a new superlab, new breakout and staff offices, a new geotech workshop, a new loading bay and new computer labs and general classrooms. The refurbished space included a future work demonstration laboratory, a PLC lab, a laser assisted lab, and a refurbished classroom.
Adelaide Airport has undergone a $165m expansion to the main terminal, which includes an upgrade of international arrivals and departures. The expansion created more retail and dining options for both domestic and international travellers.
The infamous Sydney Opera House sought to create a new immersive tour experience through the conversion of a former back of house area.
Titled the Tours Immersive Digital Experience, ‘TIDE’ runs for 5 minutes and forms a part of the standard Opera House 1-hour tour.
The project was recognised with a Commendation in the 2021 Australian Interior Design Awards.
