Glenside Hospital Redevelopment
Electrical Services (2011–2012)
The Glenside campus is made up of several mental health buildings spread over a large site.
The Task
Drafting Solutions was contracted by Watters Electrical to complete Services Co-ordination and provide Shop Drawings for dimensioned ceiling set-out plans, co-ordinated cable tray plans, and co-ordinated site drawings for all electrical services.
The Challenge
We were dealing with old and new buildings, with a lot of landscaped space separating various wings. The co-ordinated site drawings were particularly challenging due to variations in the structure of buildings and complex landscaping design.
The Solution
We paid close attention to the electrical pit locations to ensure easy access for future maintenance. Many hours were also spent with other trades to ensure the electrical conduits were co-ordinated with hydraulic services and storm water systems.
